About the JFT Basic Exam

Exam Format

The JFT Basic exam evaluates practical Japanese skills needed for daily life and entry-level work. It consists of four sections:

  2. Conversation & Expression (かいわ・ひょうげん)
  3. Listening Comprehension (ちょうかい)
  4. Reading Comprehension (どっかい)

The exam is computer-based (CBT) and conducted through Prometric test centers.
